Between 2016 and 2022, I freelanced as a UX and web designer, partnering with small to mid-sized businesses across healthcare, wellness, legal, real estate, and professional services. I led projects end-to-end—from discovery and user research to design, front-end implementation, and launch—while managing multiple clients simultaneously. This experience strengthened my ability to quickly understand new domains, translate business goals into effective digital solutions, and deliver high-quality, user-centered work in fast-paced, resource-constrained environments.

Redesigned and launched a modern website to replace an outdated platform. Highlighted high-profile work with architect George Floyd and used a brutalist design aesthetic to reflect the company’s expertise in concrete. Reorganized the information architecture to showcase the project portfolio and drive commercial sales, improving navigation, strengthening brand credibility, and increasing inbound leads.
Designed and launched a new website to replace the lost platform, aligning with business and growth goals. Simplified service messaging and user flows to improve sales performance. Built a secure web portal for clinicians to complete government-mandated monthly training and testing, supporting compliance and ongoing professional education.
Redesigned and launched a modern website for Hillcrest Glass, replacing an outdated digital presence. Clarified service offerings and streamlined lead flows, which contributed to a hockey-stick increase in sales revenue. I created PowerLinen in 1997 on the cutting edge of the internet. After twenty years of trying to keep up with the “cutting edge”, when Facebook came along, I was not interested in social media. Not interested. I figured it’s just a fad. I had pretty much thrown in the towel when it came to “Social Media” and learning something new. At 63 years old and with 20 years of experience with the internet, I wasn’t willing to deal with this new thing. At the same time, our Forums were in decline.
